Much of the education in Tanzania is passed on in story telling, song, and dance. The entire school - from the wee ones to the 14 year olds - stepped out onto the grounds to dance and sing. Traditional songs and dances, sweet and funny and flirty, were shared with everyone.
My guides while we explored the Njoro Primary grounds, including the fresh water spring that provides their school's water. I speak almost no Swahili, and these girls spoke almost no English - we photographed, we played, we laughed!
A simple image - the morning light streaming into the classrom, highlighting the meager supplies available to our children. At the end of the day, learning and education are the light to the future. Let it shine!
