Condo Girls Come to Colorado - Sep 2010
The Condo Girls Camera Club - Kim, Michele, Connie, Joanne, Gail, and Catherine - gathered in Colorado in late September. We enjoyed the pleasure of Joanne's home in Frisco, and spent a long weekend playing - many photographs, much laughter, some wine, great food, and the best company a girl could ever ask for! It's always a treat to spend time with these wonderful women I call friends - more than just friends, but friends of the heart; love each and every one of them!
Colorado showed her beauty in spades. We were out early - dawn was not to be wasted! From the sun peeking over the mountains and lighting up Dillon Resevoir to a ridiculously clear sunset from Ute Pass, we enjoyed great color and endless beauty. Yes, the pine and spruce forests in Summit and Granby counties are absolutely decimated; heartbreaking. However, the aspen, cottonwood, alder, willow, chamisa (and all the rest!) shared beautiful gold, bronze, a bit of red, countered by our beautiful blue skies.
While most of these images were taken with my 'real' camera (Nikon D700), some of the images were taken with my Droid phone; I'm determined to be able to use this toy as a point and shoot so I don't have to have yet-another-toy in my bag! Time will only tell if this is a successful strategy!
What these images don't reflect are the relaxation and pampering at the Cordillera Spa, the wonderful food that Joanne so graciously and lovingly provided, the absolute YUM of The Butterhorn Bakery, The Tennessee Cookhouse Cafe, and The Blue Moose. And most importantly - the love and support we all provide each other; some respite from the world around us. A weekend filled with love and laughter - what a gift!
