9/11 - Firefighters' Memorial Stairclimb - Denver
I had the opportunity to work with the local firefighters in a memorial to those who gave their lives on 9/11. For this event, the firefighters (most in full gear) climb the 52 stories of the Qwest building to honor 9/11. It's a special event - only a handful of photographers were invited (thank you, Click!) and the participants are truly focused on the importance of what they have chosen to do with their lives. Lots of laughter, lots of serious faces (especially on the second time up those 52 flights . . .), lots of joy and celebration.
Here's a special tidbit - after 12 years of working with/for Qwest - I FINALLY got to be on top of the building. Great views!
Many many thanks to the men and women, and their families, of the firefighters who watch over us every day.
