Pink-headed lizard. Agama family.
I was struck by the beauty of this little lizard's colors - so bright and shiny in the height of the mid-day sun!
Cheetah
First of the major mammals; family was spotted just after we entered The Serengeti. Beauty and grace indeed.
Leopard - One
A leopard siting. This mama was so well camouflaged - it took some time and patience to spot her, and then she came out of her hiding spot. Amazing! In this image, she is coming off a rocky cliff. She has 2-3 young about 50 yards away.
Leopard - Two
Mama leopard stops to let us know, with all of our long lenses and breathless wonder, that she is well award of our presence.
Leopard - Three
Mama goes to her recent kill and drags it across the face of the cliff to her young.
Good morning, Sunshine!
As we were leaving our Serengeti camp, we came upon a small pride of lions surrounded by beautiful light.

Hanging out
I think hanging out is what lions do best. Well, it's what they do between hunting to feed their families and protecting their territories.

Play Time
We watched this family of elephants for a long time - their adventure into the waterhole went from serious (hey, I need a drink!), then to gentle splashese of water, and ended in an all out rumble and tumble in the water and mud. Such fun!

Wildebeest
I knew about wildebeest, but I fell in love with these creatures. They look like they've been put together with spare parts from other critters. And I know they have eyes, but I'll be danged if they are easy to see!
Butts
I love zebra butts . . . .
Danger!
The waterhole is a very dangerous place - crocodiles and such. . .
