2020 was a year filled will grief, challenges unlike I've ever experienced, and unexpected obstacles. In one fell swoop my family's lives were turned upside down - Crystal and Rachelle lost their Dad, followed immediately by a brutal cancer diagnosis for Rachelle, followed immediately by a world-wide pandemic and economic shutdown.
I travelled only twice in 2020. Once in February to help Rachelle get her oncology care in place, and a family trip in September to hold my family close.

A local park in Olympia WA. I love the forests of the northwest, so different than what I know in Colorado. In trying to wrap my arms around my grief, sadness and fears over Rachelle's cancer diagnosis, I sought trees and new growth. For me, healing and understanding come from a closeness with nature.
